Optical sensor for in-line heavy metal detection in water (OSIMDIW)
OSIMDIW project aims to design and manufacture an interferometric sensor based on optical fibre for the inline detection of heavy metal ions in water. This optical sensor is characterised by its high sensitivity, short response time, specificity, small size and relatively low production cost. In addition to these characteristics, it can perform a continuous monitoring of water providing a real-time measurement of different types of heavy metals. In this project, two optical sensors will be developed for the measurement of copper and lead concentrations in water.
AOTECH brings photonics to agro-food, forestry and environment sectors.
